Metal Insets Tracing Tray

The Tracing Tray is used in conjunction with the Metal Insets, allowing students to set the inset frames in the tray and trace the shapes onto a piece of paper underneath.

Please note that some space between the tray and the inset frame is normal. In the beginning, the tray assists the child with tracing the frame, but it is still necessary to hold the frame steady with the non-dominant hand, which is part of the motor skills of writing. The tray provides a guide for doing so. Eventually, the child gains enough motor control to trace the frame without the help of the tray, and also to trace around the insets themselves.
